ONE Championship has announced a kickboxing focused card titled “Fists of Fury” will happen on February 26th. The show, which will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, will have ONE Flyweight Kickboxing Champion Ilias Ennahachi face Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the main event.
The fight will be Ennahachi’s third championship bout in ONE. Ennahachi won the belt in August of 2019, stopping Petcham Petchyindee Academy in the third round with punches. He defended it three months later when he defeated Wang Wenfeng.
The fight in February will be Ennahachi’s first in over a year.
Superlek has been given the kickboxing fight after four wins in ONE’s Muay Thai division. His last fight was in September, where he took a decision win over Fahdi Khaled.
Petrosyan Returns Against Former GLORY Champ Kiria
Former GLORY Kickboxing Champion Davit Kiria will make his ONE debut in the co-main event against Giorgio Petrosyan.
Kiria is an experienced kickboxer that has fights in notable promotions like GLORY and Kunlun Fight.
Petrosyan has been successful in ONE since entering the promotion in 2019. While on a three-fight win streak, Petrosyan will be competing for the first time since 2019.
Rodtang To Face Rivas In Kickboxing Bout
ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon will appear on the card, fighting Alejandro Rivas in a three-round kickboxing contest.
The fight will be Rodtang’s first for ONE under their kickboxing ruleset. Through seven Muay Thai fights in ONE Rodtang is undefeated.
Rodtang is now booked for two fights at once, as he is also currently lined up to face Jacob Smith at ONE’s April 7th event.
Rivas, a former K-1 Japan fighter, will be making his first appearance for ONE.
Akimoto and Zhang To Have Rematch
Kickboxers Hiroki Akimoto and Zhang Chenglong will have a rematch at ONE’s February event. Their first meeting was in October and saw Akimoto pick up a split decision victory.
Wondergirl Looks For Third ONE Victory
Wondergirl Fairtex will return for her third fight for ONE Championship in February. Fighting under their Muay Thai ruleset, Wondergirl will fight Jackielou Buntan.
Wondergirl had a strong debut for ONE over the summer, stopping both Brooke Farrell and KC Carles in fights within the same month.
The fight will be Buntan’s first appearance for ONE. Her promotional debut was scheduled for March of 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced ONE to cancel events.
Lee To Make ONE Debut
The sole MMA bout of the card will see Victoria Lee fight Sunisa Srisen.
The fight will be the ONE debut for Lee, who is a sibling of ONE fighters Angela Lee and Christian Lee. The news of Lee’s debut comes just months after she signed with the promotion.
Srisen will be competing in her third bout in ONE. Srisen lost her ONE debut in July, being stopped within a round by Stamp Fairtex. She bounced back two months later with a decision victory against Rika Ishige.
ONE Announces Bouts For Pre-Tapes March 5th and 19th Cards
Like what ONE has done with previous events, they will also be taping fights on February 26th that will air later on as pre-taped events.
“Fists of Fury II” is set to happen on March 5th and have a heavyweight main event between Amir Aliakbari and Kang Ji Won. The fight will be the UFC debut for both Kang and Aliakbari.
The card will also feature a heavyweight co-main event between Anatoly Malykhin and Alexandre Machado.
“Fists of Fury III” will air on March 19th with ONE Lightweight Kickboxing Champion Regian Eersel fighting Islam Murtazaev. The co-main event will also be kickboxing, as Janet Todd will fight Alma Juniku.
