Andre Ewell has found a new opponent, as he is now being booked to face Chris Gutierrez at Saturday night’s UFC 258 card. The matchup, which will be held at a catchweight of 140 pounds, was first reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
The bout joins a pay-per-view card that is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The matchup sees Ewell get a fight just days after his February 6th bout against Cody Stamann was cancelled. The cancelled bout came due to UFC’s COVID-19 protocol forcing Ewell out of the bout.
Ewell has won his past two fights, defeating Jonathan Martinez and Irwin Rivera both via split decision in 2020.
Gutierrez enters the fight after winning three of his last four fights. His last bout was in August, where he fought to a draw against Cody Durden. Before then, Gutierrez had a stoppage win against Vince Morales.
UFC 258 is currently set to be headlined by UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. Here is the updated lineup.
