The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 winner Mike Trizano won’t be making his return on February 20th, as an ankle injury has forced him to withdraw from a fight against Rafael Alves. Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin of MMA Fighting reported the change first.
The fight was set to take place as part of UFC’s event at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It is not known currently if Alves will be a new opponent for the event.
Trizano was set to make his return to the octagon after nearly two years outside of the cage. His last fight was in May of 2019, where Grant Dawson handed him his first loss as a pro.
The fight was set to be Alves’ UFC debut. Alves earned his UFC contract in August, where he submitted Alejandro Flores with a guillotine choke.
UFC’s February 20th event is currently set to have heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis in the main event.
