Guram Kutateladze has been removed from his March 13th UFC fight against Don Madge. Kutateladze announced the change on Monday via Instagram, mentioning that he underwent surgery on his knee.
The fight was set to take place on a UFC “Fight Night” card that did not have a confirmed location yet. It is not known currently if Madge will get a new opponent for the date.
“I just finished surgery on my knee. Everything’s okay. Now it’s [a] little rest, recovery time,” said Kutateladze in his Instagram update.
A report from Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie stated that Kutateladze suffered a torn left meniscus.
The fight was set to be Madge’s return to the cage. The former EFC Lightweight Champion had competed twice in the UFC from 2018 to 2019, picking up wins in both appearances.
UFC’s March 13th event is currently scheduled to be headlined by welterweights Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev.
