UFC’s upcoming February 27th card has lost a fight, as Emily Whitmire has withdrawn from her matchup against Sam Hughes. News of Whitmire’s departure from the lineup was first reported by Jay Anderson of Cageside Press.
The fight was scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It is not known currently if Hughes will get a new opponent for her fight.
Whitmire was aiming to return to the win column after being submitted in her last two fights.
Whitmire’s bout saw changes before it was reported that she left the lineup on Sunday. Whitmire was originally booked to fight Hannah Cifers, although she was matched with Hughes after Cifers withdrew.
Should Hughes get booked against a new opponent, she will look to bounce back from her UFC debut loss that came in December against Tecia Torres.
UFC’s February 27th card is currently set to be headlined by heavyweights Jairzinho Rozenstruick and Ciryl Gane.
