UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman was given a “Performance of the Night” bonus along with Julian Marquez, Anthony Hernandez and Polyana Viana for their wins at UFC 258.
All winners were given an extra $50,000 on top of their previous negotiated fight purses. The pay-per-view fights took place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Usman defended his 170-pound belt for the third time in the main event, finishing Gilbert Burns in the third round with punches. Usman was putting together damaging strikes in the second and third round that were hurting Burns leading up to the finish.
Marquez was given a performance bonus for his return victory. In his first fight back in over two years, Marquez scored a third-round anaconda choke submission against Maki Pitolo.
Hernandez’s award came after pulling off a large upset on the prelims. Hernandez gave Rodolfo Vieira his first loss as a pro, submitting the high-level grappler in the second round with a guillotine choke.
Viana earned her second consecutive submission win on the prelims catching Mallory Martin with an armbar in the first round.
