Ottman Azaitar Rejoins UFC Roster, Given ‘Second Chance’ Following UFC 257 Controversy

Ottman Azaitar will rejoin the UFC roster after an incident at UFC 257 seemingly put an end to his run with the promotion earlier in the year. UFC President Dana White has decided to give Azaitar a “second chance,” per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

Azaitar found himself in trouble last month, as he was removed from a UFC 257 bout against Matt Frevola after a “safety zone violation” at the promotion’s bubble in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

White, the UFC President, claimed that Azaitar tried to sneak people into UFC’s sectioned off campus at “Fight Island.” The purpose of the special authorization to enter the area was to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

White previously claimed that Azaitar was let go from the promotion following the incident.

“I’m always grateful to everyone who was involved in this situation. The Bulldozer is back,” said Azaitar after getting reinstated.

Azaitar holds an undefeated MMA record with 13 wins. He won his second UFC bout in September, defeating Khama Worthy in the first round with strikes.
