Bellator is giving a fight between Paul Daley and Sabah Homasi another shot, as it is being booked for their April 16th event at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
News of the welterweight fight being booked was first reported by Nolan King and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
A fight between Homasi and Daley has been attempted twice before by Bellator. Various reasons have caused the fights to be cancelled, including an injury to Homasi and the entire cancellation of an event due to the global spread of COVID-19 in 2020.
Daley has been inactive for over a year now. He was meant to fight in October against Derek Anderson, although his fight was later cancelled due to weight cut issues.
Daley’s last bout was in October of 2019, where he stopped Saad Awad with strikes in the second round.
Homasi enters the fight after a short yet successful run in 2020. Homasi made his return in August, defeating Curtis Millender in a unanimous decision. He fought again two months later, stopping Bobby Voelker in the second round with a flying knee.
Bellator’s April 16th event currently has two bouts in their light heavyweight tournament planned to happen at the top of the card. Here is the updated lineup.
