Two bouts have been recently reported for UFC’s June 5th card. The fights join a lineup that does not have a location reported for it at the moment.
Youssef Zalal vs. Sean Woodson
Attempting to rebound off his first pro loss, Sean Woodson will fight Youssef Zalal in June. The matchup was first reported by Farah Hannoun and Nolan King of MMA Junkie on Friday.
Woodson was handed his first pro-MMA loss in June of 2020, as Julian Erosa submitted him with a third-round darce choke. Prior to the fight, Woodson had seven pro wins, including a UFC debut victory against Kyle Bochniak from 2019.
Zalal has had an active year or so, competing five times since joining the UFC roster in early 2020. While he started his UFC run hot with three consecutive victories, recent decision losses to Ilia Topuria and Seung Woo Choi have put him on a two-fight skid. He will attempt to avoid a third consecutive loss in June.
Ilir Latifi vs. Tanner Boser
Looking for his first win at heavyweight, Ilir Latifi will face Tanner Boser in June. MMA Empire was the first to confirm the matchup, reporting it on Friday.
Latifi, a former veteran in UFC’s light heavyweight division, made his debut at heavyweight last year. The move-up by a weight class didn’t work out in his first performance, as he lost a decision to Derrick Lewis in 2020. The fight was his third consecutive loss, putting him in a potential must-win position in June.
Boser is returning after taking a loss to UFC veteran Andrei Arlovski in November. Boser was picking up steam in the heavyweight division prior to the loss, as he earned stoppage wins over Philipe Lins and Raphael Pessoa over the summer.
