UFC is looking to make a lightweight bout between Tony Ferguson and Beneil Dariush for their May 15th pay-per-view card, per a report from Mike Bohn and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
Should the fight be booked, it would join the UFC 262 lineup, which does not have a confirmed location attached to it yet.
Ferguson will be attempting to pick up a win after losing two high-profile bouts in 2020.
Ferguson fought for an interim UFC Lightweight Championship in May, competing in a back-and-forth battle against Justin Gaethje that culminated with Ferguson getting stopped in the fifth round due to strikes.
Ferguson returned in December, losing a one-sided decision to Charles Oliveira. Prior to his fights in 2020, Ferguson had built up an impressive 12-fight win streak.
Dariush is currently on a win streak of his own, as he has won his last six appearances in the cage. He last appeared in February, where he earned a split decision win against Diego Ferreira.
UFC 262 does not have a main event booked for it yet. Here are the reported fights for the lineup so far.
