Visa Issues Force Johnny Eduardo Out of March 20th UFC Bout Against Anthony Birchak

Johnny Eduardo’s near three-year absence from the octagon won’t end on March 20th, as he has been withdrawn from a fight against Anthony Birchak due to visa issues. The cancelled bout was first reported by Guilherme Cruz and Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.

The bantamweight fight was scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

It is not known currently if Birchak will receive a new opponent for Saturday’s card.

Eduardo has been out of the cage since June of 2018. The 40-year-old has competed seven times in the UFC, attaining three wins and four losses.

Birchak was looking to compete in the second fight of his current UFC stint on Saturday. The 34-year-old made his return to the promotion in the fall, losing via submission to Gustavo Lopez within a round.

Birchak had previously fought in the UFC from 2014 to 2016 before returning to the regional circuit for six fights.

UFC’s March 20th card is now down to 12 fights in total. The show currently has middleweights Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland scheduled for the main event.
