ONE Championship will present their third and final “Fists of Fury” event on Friday, airing a six-fight card. The show, which was pre-taped in February at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, will air for the first time on Friday.
Headlining the card, ONE 170-pound kickboxing champ Regian Eersel will face Mustapha Haida.
Here is a full preview of the card.
Main Card (8:30AM EDT / 8:30PM SGT) (B/R Live / Youtube)
Bout 1: Yodkaikaew Fairtex (7-2-1) vs. Hu Yong (6-2) (135 lbs) (MMA Bout)
Hu Yong will get his flagship ONE debut on the card when facing Yodkaikaew Fairtex. Hu is being given the fight after attaining four consecutive wins on ONE’s “Hero Series” in 2019.
Yodkaikaew has been undefeated since joining the ONE roster last year. He earned his third win under the promotion in December, defeating promotional veteran Tatsumitsu Wada via decision.
Bout 2: Roshan Mainam (5-2) vs. Aziz Calim (5-4) (135 lbs) (MMA Bout)
Looking to earn his third ONE win, Roshan Mainam will fight Aziz Calim on the main card. Mainam has earned two wins since ONE picked him up in 2019. Both of his ONE wins have come via submission thus far.
Calim will be returning after a year outside of the cage. His last bout was in August of 2019, where Ryuto Sawada submitted him in the second minute with a rear naked choke.
Bout 3: Maira Mazar (7-3) vs. Jenelyn Olsim (3-2) (125 lbs) (MMA Bout)
Maira Mazar has the chance to spoil the ONE flagship debut of Jenelyn Olsim during Friday’s card. Olsim has previously competed twice on ONE’s “Warrior Series,” earning a decision win and more recently a quick submission loss.
Mazar is returning after earning her first ONE win last year, stopping Choi Jung Yoon with strikes late in their bout. Her previous fight was a submission loss to Ayaka Miura.
Bout 4: Alex Silva (9-5) vs. Hiroshi Minowa (12-2) (125 lbs) (MMA Bout)
In the final MMA bout of the card, Alex Silva will fight Hiroshi Minowa.
Minowa earned a win in his ONE debut last year, earning a close split decision win against Lito Adiwang. The ONE fight came after a four-fight win streak in regional Japanese MMA promotion Shooto Japan culminated with a title victory in 2020.
Silva, a ONE veteran, will be attempting to stop Minowa’s momentum. Having competed under ONE since their second-ever event, Silva has been one of their longest-tenured athletes. He is looking to return to the win column now, as his last fight, an early 2020 bout against Joshua Pacio, resulted in a decision loss.
Bout 5: Janet Todd vs. Alma Juniku (115 lbs) (Muay Thai Bout)
A Muay Thai bout will take place in the co-main event between Janet Todd and Alma Juniku.
Todd is the promotion’s current 115-pound kickboxing champion, although she will be putting on ONE’s MMA gloves for a Muay Thai bout in this fight. Her last Muay Thai bout was in 2019, where she defeated Ekaterina Vandaryeva.
Juniku has yet to win a bout since joining the ONE roster in 2019. After losing a title fight to Stamp Fairtex, Juniku returned in early 2020 to lose on scorecards to Anne Line Hogstad.
Bout 6: Regian Eersel vs. Mustapha Haida (170 lbs) (ONE Kickboxing Lightweight Championship)
Regian Eersel will attempt to defend his ONE Kickboxing belt for the second time on Friday, fighting Mustapha Haida in the main event of “Fists of Fury III.”
Eersel first earned the belt in 2019, defeating kickboxing veteran Niekly Holzken via unanimous decision. He prevailed again in their rematch later that year, fighting five more rounds to pick up another decision victory.
He now faces Haida, who is making his return to ONE. He has competed for the promotion twice before, earning a win in 2018 and a loss to Holzken in 2019. He has since competed once outside the promotion, defeating Eder Lopes on a card in 2019.
