Saturday night’s UFC card has lost a fight, Julija Stoliarenko has been pulled from a fight against Julia Avila after collapsing during the weigh-ins on Friday.
Stoliarenko appeared in front of the media on Friday to weigh in at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. She fainted twice while on the scale, making weight the second time before falling off.
Stoliarenko was stretchered out of the building afterwards.
Avila, the opponent for Stoliarenko, was sympathetic towards the situation.
“I hope nothing but a speedy recovery for [Stoliarenko] and prayers for her. Maybe we can meet up at a future date,” said Avila via Instagram.
The bout was scheduled to be Stoliarenko’s second in the UFC. The former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion made her UFC debut last year, losing a fight to Yana Kunitskaya.
Avila was hoping to bounce back from a September loss to Sijara Eubanks.
Saturday night’s card is now down to 11 fights in total. The card is currently set to be headlined by middleweights Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland.
