UFC’s May 15th pay-per-view event will be done in front of a live crowd, as the promotion will hold an event at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, USA. The promotion confirmed the ticket sales on Friday while also formally announcing a title fight between Alex Oliveira and Michael Chandler.
The event will be the promotion’s second with a live crowd in the United States since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are currently scheduled to have a return of fans in the country the month prior at UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.
It is not known currently if UFC 262 will have a restriction of fans allowed due to COVID-19. UFC’s upcoming event in Florida is scheduled to proceed without any restrictions on crowd size due to the pandemic.
UFC has already hosted events with an audience this year, doing a series of shows in January at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The crowds were allowed in at a lower capacity than what the venue could hold due to COVID-19 protocol.
