Johnny Munoz Jr. has been given a new opponent for his April 24th UFC fight, now being paired against Jamey Simmons at UFC 261. Simmons replaces Mark Striegl, who has departed the lineup, per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
The fight joins a card that is scheduled to take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.
It is not known currently why Striegl withdrew from the lineup.
The fight will be a chance for both Munoz Jr. and Simmons to earn their first UFC victory.
Simmons lost his UFC debut in November, getting stopped within a round by rising featherweight Giga Chikadze. The loss snapped a three-fight win streak that Simmons had built on the regional scene.
Munoz Jr. took his first pro loss in his August UFC debut, losing on scorecards to Nate Maness. Prior to then, he had accumulated 10 wins in King of the Cage.
