Matt Mitrione Withdraws From Bellator 255 Bout Against Tyrell Fortune

Bellator’s April 2nd card is down a heavyweight bout for now, as Matt Mitrione has withdrawn from his fight against Tyrell Fortune due to undisclosed reasons. News of the cancelled bout was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Bellator is currently in the search of a new opponent for Fortune, per the report. The original booking was scheduled to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.

Mitrione was looking to earn his first win since 2018. The Bellator and UFC vet has lost his last two bouts, including a recent stoppage loss to Timothy Johnson in August.

Fortune returned to the win column in November, fighting to a unanimous decision against former Titan FC Heavyweight Champion Said Sowma.

Bellator 255’s main event is currently set to be a semi-final match in Bellator’s Bantamweight Grand Prix between Patricio Pitbull and Emmanuel Sanchez.
