Middleweights Omari Akhmedov and Brad Tavares are expected to meet at UFC’s July 10th event, as first reported by Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
The location for the event is not known at the moment.
Both Akhmedov and Tavares are returning after recent wins.
Tavares snapped a two-fight skid in January, earning a win over Antonio Carlos Junior at UFC 257. His previous losses came against notable middleweight names, including prospect Edmen Shahbazyan and current UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya.
Akhmedov earned a submission win in January, stopping Tom Breese with an arm triangle choke in the second round. His previous fight, a loss which snapped a three-fight win streak, came against former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman in August.
The only other fight currently reported for UFC’s July 10th card is a flyweight fight between former title challenger Jennifer Maia and Jessica Eye.
