Both looking to return following their first loss in a long time, Gregor Gillespie and Diego Ferreira have been matched for UFC’s May 8th card. The matchup was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The fight joins a card that does not have a confirmed location currently.
Gillespie was given his first pro loss in 2019, getting knocked out by Kevin Lee at UFC 244. The 34-year-old had previously scored 13 pro wins, including six since joining the UFC roster in 2016.
Gillespie was first set to make his return to action against Brad Riddell in March, although plans changed on short notice due to COVID-19 protocol.
Ferreira’s last fight came in February, where he was on the losing end of a split decision against Beneil Dariush. The fight snapped a six-fight win streak in the UFC for Ferreira which dated back to 2016.
