‘COVID-19 Protocol’ Forces Ricardo Ramos Out of April 17th UFC Bout Against Bill Algeo

UFC’s April 17th “Fight Night” card has lost a featherweight bout, as COVID-19 protocol has forced Ricardo Ramos out of a match against Bill Algeo. News of the cancelled bout was first reported by John Morgan of MMA Junkie on Wednesday.

The 145-pound pairing was set to be the opening bout of UFC’s event at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

It is not known currently if Algeo will get a short-notice replacement for his fight, which is now only three days away. Algeo last fought in November, defeating Spike Carlyle via unanimous decision.

Ramos was looking to return after being stopped by Lerone Murphy within a round last year.

UFC’s April 10th card is now down to 12 bouts in total. The main event is currently set to be a middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum.
