Christian Lee used his powerful punches to stop Timofey Nastyukhin within a round and defend his ONE MMA Lightweight Championship for the second time. Lee was able to drop Nastyukhin with a left hook before landing a series of unanswered strikes on the floor that forced the referee to end the match.
The title fight headlined “ONE on TNT 2,” a pre-taped card that aired for the first time on Wednesday night. The bouts, which were recorded last week, took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Lee dedicated the fight to his wife and his soon-to-be-born daughter.
“This fight was dedicated to my baby girl on the way and my wife back home,” said Lee in his post-fight interview.
Lee now has six consecutive wins in ONE. Of those fights is four first-round stoppage victories. His previous fight was in October, where he defended his belt for the first time by stopping Iuri Lapicus within a round with strikes.
Nastyukhin was given a title shot following two high-level wins in ONE, defeating Eddie Alvarez in Pieter Buist in the past two years.
Todd Continues Muay Thai Campaign With Stoppage Win Over Hogstad
Janet Todd continued her climb to a ONE Muay Thai belt on the main card, landing a leg kick to stop Anne Line Hogstad in the third round of their fight.
Todd was able to drop Hogstad with a kick to the body, causing the first and only knockdown of their fight.
Todd is currently ONE’s 115-pound kickboxing champion, although she has now fought her last two bouts under the promotion’s Muay Thai rules. She claimed her ONE kickboxing belt in early 2020, defeating former champ Stamp Fairtex on scorecards.
Hogstad scored a win in her previous appearance, defeating Alma Juniku in 2020.
Disqualification Ends Win Streak For Zoltsetseg
A close battle between Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg and Yoshiki Nakahara ended abruptly in the second round due to disqualification.
In a leg lock hold with Nakahara on the ground, Zoltsetseg’s leg sprung out of the position and accidentally kicked Nakahara in the head, causing a pause in the action. The referee eventually decided to give Zoltsetseg a red card for the move, calling an end to the bout via DQ.
Zoltsetseg was succeeding previously in the fight with striking on the feet. He had seemingly hurt Nakahara late in the first round, scoring punches that stunned him and knocked his mouthpiece out.
The disqualification snapped a four-fight win streak that Zoltsetseg entered the cage with. The 24-year-old won his ONE debut last year, stopping Ma Jia Wen in less than a minute with strikes.
Nakahara was returning for his second fight of the year. The Japanese talent handed Ruslam Emilbek Uulu his first pro loss earlier in 2021, catching him with punches.
Wang Scores TKO Win In ONE Debut
Wang Shuo scored a perfectly timed elbow to the head to drop Kim Kyu Sung and lead to a stoppage victory in the third round of their MMA bout. The victory for Wang finished what was a close striking battle that Kim was leading.
The fight was Wang’s ONE Championship debut. He entered the promotion after putting together a four-fight win streak from 2018 to 2020 on the regional scene.
Kim is now on a two-fight losing streak. His previous bout was in late 2020, where he was stopped within a round by Yuya Wakamatsu.
Kamikubo Submits Short-Notice Opponent Chamale
Shuya Kamikubo picked up his fifth consecutive ONE Championship win in the first bout of the “Lead Card,” defeating short-notice opponent Mitchell Chamale in the second round with a rear naked choke.
Kamikubo secured the submission after a round-and-a-half of dominating the fight on the ground, taking Chamale down and keeping him down.
Kamikubo was competing for the first time since late 2019. The Pancrase veteran is still undefeated since entering ONE Championship in 2018.
Chamale took the fight against Kamikubo on just a few hours notice, replacing Troy Worthen. The bout was Chamale’s first appearance on over six years, with his previous fight being a submission win over Charles Kessinger in 2015.
