Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima To Face Undefeated Yaroslav Amosov on June 11th

Yaroslav Amosov will wager his 25-fight undefeated record when fighting Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima at the promotion’s June 11th event, per a report from Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports.

The fight will reportedly be held at Bellator’s current bubble location amid the pandemic, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.

The June matchup will be Lima’s first in the welterweight division since starting his third stint as champion in 2019. Avenging a loss against Rory MacDonald, Lima won the belt two years ago in what was the final fight of Bellator’s Welterweight Grand Prix.

Lima last fought in October, where he was not successful in an attempt at becoming a two-division Bellator champion. He lost to Bellator Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi, who beat him via unanimous decision.

Amosov, the new challenger for Lima, has built his undefeated record up since joining Bellator in 2018. His pro record of 25 fights now includes six in the Bellator cage. His last appearance was the biggest of his career thus far, as he handed Logan Storley his first loss in a close split decision battle.

Amosov has other notable wins like victories over veterans David Rickels and Gerald Harris.

The championship fight between Amosov and Lima is the first to be reported for June 11th.
