Ranked heavyweights Jairzinho Rozenstruick and Augusto Sakai will attempt to bounce back from a loss when matched in the main event of UFC’s June 5th card. News of the main event bout was first reported by Marcelo Barone of Combate.
The matchup sits atop a UFC “Fight Night” card that does not have a confirmed location as of yet.
Both fighters faced a main event loss in their most recent appearance.
Sakai had his first UFC main event bout in September, where he was matched with MMA veteran Alistair Overeem. The fight went into deep waters, as Overeem was able to finish Sakai early in the fifth round with ground and pound.
Sakai had an undefeated UFC run of four consecutive wins prior to his loss to Overeem.
Rozenstruick was dominated in his last appearance by undefeated contender Ciryl Gane, who took every round against him in a five-round bout earlier this year. Rozenstruick had picked up a stoppage win in his previous outing, defeating Junior dos Santos in 2020.
Now with a main event in place, here is how UFC’s June 5th event looks.
