Piera Rodriguez To Face Svetlana Gotsyk In Strawweight Title Fight At LFA 105

LFA will look to find their next strawweight champion on Friday night, as Piera Rodriguez and Svetlana Gotsyk will compete for the promotion’s currently vacant belt, as announced Monday. The strawweight bout will headline LFA 105, which is set to take place at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA.

The title fight is set to be the LFA debut for both competitors.

Rodriguez enters the bout with a flawless record of five wins and no losses. She has stopped four of her five opponents since turning pro in 2017. Her last fight was just over a year ago, where she defeated Kayla Hracho on scorecards.

Gotsyk will have the experience advantage in the fight, as she has 17 pro bouts and has been competing since 2014. She is currently on a three-fight run of first-round stoppage wins, although she has been inactive from competition since 2019 now.

The matchup to find LFA’s next strawweight champion comes after former titleholder Lupita Godinez joined the UFC roster.

Childers Looks To Bounce Back Against Kawaihae

Attempting to return following his first pro loss, Jake Childers will fight Canaan Kawaihae in the co-main event of the card. Childers last fought in July, where he was stopped in the fourth round of a title fight against Justin Gonzales.

Childers had previously strung together eight consecutive wins, including three in the LFA cage. The 32-year-old will return from the loss when fighting Kawaihae, who will be making his return to the sport.

Kawaihae, a Bellator and “Dana White’s Contender Series” alum, will be making his first appearance since 2018. He had a win in his last showing, fighting to a decision against Timothy Teves.

Undefeated Talent Returns To LFA

A few names in LFA that have been successful as of late will return to their cage on Friday.

Coming back for her third LFA appearance, undefeated strawweight Tabatha Ricci will fight Shawna Ormsby on the main card. Ricci scored a fast win in her last appearance, submitting Vanessa Marie Grimes in just over a minute with an armbar.

Light heavyweight Zac Pauga will also look for his third LFA win when fighting Logan Nail in the opening bout of the main card. Pauga scored his first stoppage win as a pro in January, stopping Ashby Thomas within a round with strikes.

Here is how the card looks currently.
