Meeting for the first time in nearly five years, Marlon Vera and Davey Grant will compete at UFC’s June 19th event. News of the matchup was first reported by MMA DNA on Tuesday.
The fight joins a UFC “Fight Night” card that does not have a location scheduled for it right now.
Vera and Grant first met in 2016, where Grant pulled off a unanimous decision win. While they have both been successful in the UFC in recent years, Vera has been much more active than Grant since then, competing 13 times in total.
Vera had a big challenge in his last appearance, fighting Jose Aldo after the former champ came off a title fight. Vera lost the fight on scorecards after three rounds.
Vera picked up a stoppage win in his prior bout, becoming the first person to defeat Sean O’Malley.
Grant is getting the rematch with Vera after putting together a three-fight win streak. He has finished his last two opponents with punches, stopping Martin Day last year and Jonathan Martinez just last month.
