UFC is looking to book undefeated lightweight Mark Madsen against veteran Clay Guida for their August 21st event, per a report from Damon Martin and Mike Heck of MMA Fighting. Should the fight be made official, it would join a UFC “Fight Night” card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Madsen’s next appearance will be his first after a significant amount of time out of the cage. His last fight dates back to early 2020, where he defeated Austin Hubbard via decision. The victory moved Madsen’s undefeated record to double digits as a pro.
His previous appearance was his UFC debut, where he stopped Danilo Belluardo within a round in 2019.
Guida snapped a two-fight skid in his last fight, defeating Michael Johnson on scorecards in February. Guida will be a big test for Madsen, entering the fight with over a decade of experience in the UFC.
