PFL’s final regular season event of 2021 now has its lineup set, with lightweights Kayla Harrison and Cindy Dandois scheduled to headline the event on June 25th.
The card is set to take place at the Ocean Casino Resort, the bubble venue that PFL has used for their regular season, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. The promotion announced the full lineup on Tuesday.
Harrison, a 2019 PFL champ, won her first fight of the year in quick fashion in May, stopping Mariana Morais in the second minute with ground and pound. The first-round win tied Harrison for first with Larissa Pacheco in the division’s standings and scored her a ninth win as a pro.
Dandois is returning after losing her first fight of the season to Kaitlin Young. The fight snapped a five-fight win streak that Dandois had attained on the regional scene in 2019.
Isaev Makes First Appearance of 2021 Against Ferreira
PFL’s 2019 Heavyweight Champion, Ali Isaev, will appear for the first time this season when facing Renan Ferreira in the co-main event.
Isaev was first set to compete in May against Hatef Moeil, although that fight was later thrown out due to them both not being able to compete.
Isaev fought five times during PFL’s 2019 season, going all the way to the finals where he defeated Jared Rosholt.
Ferreira is making his return after a controversial fight against Fabricio Werdum in May. Ferreira defeated Werdum within a round in their fight, stopping him with ground and pound.
Issues arose following the fight, as replays showed that Ferreira tapped out to a submission earlier in the round, something which was not seen by the referee. Weeks later, Ferreira’s win was overturned to a no contest.
Werdum was announced to fight Brandon Sayles on PFL’s June 25th card, although a report from Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting says that he has since withdrawn from the event. It is not known currently if Sayles will get a new opponent for the card.
A heavyweight bout between Denis Goltsov and Mohammed Usman is also set to take place on the main card.
