Herbert Burns Suffers Torn ACL, Replaced By Gabriel Benitez In July 17th UFC Fight Against Billy Quarantillo

Billy Quarantillo has been given a new opponent for July 17th, now being paired against Gabriel Benitez instead of Herbert Burns. The new matchup for a UFC “Fight Night” card was first reported by Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes.

The location for the fight is not known at the moment.

The change comes after Burns suffered a torn ACL, per a report from Mike Heck and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.

Quarantillo will be fighting to come back from his first loss in the UFC, which he took in December against Gavin Tucker. He had previously picked up three wins since joining the promotion in 2019.

Benitez snapped a two-fight skid in his last showing, stopping Justin Jaynes late in the first round with strikes. The bout was his first win since 2018.
