Bellator’s June 11th card has lost a main card bout, as Vanessa Porto was withdrawn from her bout against Ilara Joanne, per an on-sight report by Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
Porto was removed from the lineup by the Mohegan Athletic Commission, who did not medically clear her for the fight.
The fight was set to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
With the cancelled bout, Bellator 260 only has four fights on its main card. A preliminary fight won’t be bumped up to replace it, per reports.
Porto was looking to score her first win since joining Bellator. The Invicta FC vet had a four-fight win streak broken in April, as Liz Carmouche defeated her via unanimous decision.
Joanne was going to be competing for the first time in over a year. Her last appearance was in late 2019, where undefeated flyweight Kana Watanabe stopped her in the final round of the fight.
Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima will look to defend his belt for the first time in the main event of the card, facing Yaroslav Amosov. Here is how the card looks without the withdrawn bout.
