Rising Welterweights Vicente Luque and Michael Chiesa Matched For UFC 265

Win streaks at welterweight will be put on the line when Vicente Luque faces Michael Chiesa at UFC’s August 7th pay-per-view event. The new fight was first reported by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.

The fight joins UFC 265, which does not have a confirmed location at the moment.

Chiesa is currently on an impressive four-fight win streak in the division. He earned a big victory in the streak recently, fighting five rounds against Neil Magny for a decision victory in January.

The bout was Chiesa’s first time going five-rounds as a pro and was a victory against a highly respected competitor in the division.

Chiesa’s ongoing win streak is the longest he has put together since entering the UFC in 2012.

Luque is returning to the cage after building up an explosive trio of wins recently. His last fight was in March, where he submitted former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley in the first round with a darce choke.

The quick win for Luque awarded him and Woodley a “Fight of the Night” bonus.

UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes is currently expected to headline UFC 265 against Julianna Pena. Here is the updated card.
