Karolina Kowalkiewicz will attempt to snap a losing streak when facing Jessica Penne at UFC’s August 7th pay-per-view event. The new matchup was announced by Kowalkiewicz via social media on Tuesday.
The fight joins UFC 265, a PPV show which does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Kowalkiewicz will be attempting to break a four-fight losing streak that has developed from 2018 to 2020. Her last fight saw her lose via unanimous decision to Yan Xiaonan in early 2020.
Penne is returning after snapping her own skid earlier this year. Competing for the first time in nearly four years, Penne scored a split decision victory against Lupita Godinez in April.
Penne’s three previous appearances in the UFC cage were losses, with her last win dating back to 2014. Her fight earlier this year concluded a long absence from the ring due to a suspension from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
