UFC’s July 17th card will be headlined by lightweights Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises, per a report by MMA Junkie.
The fight will main event a card that is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The fight was previously reported for the event, although it was not known at the time that it would be a five-round main event. It is taking the top spot on the show after injury forced a previous main event between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez to be postponed.
The fight will be the first main event booking for both fighters since joining the UFC roster.
Makhachev is currently on a strong seven-fight win streak that has been growing since 2016. He scored his last win in March, submitting Drew Dober with an arm triangle choke.
Moises has been undefeated for the past year now, having won three straight bouts. The win streak includes one victory from 2021, which was a unanimous decision over Alexander Hernandez.
