UFC’s quickly approaching July 10th card has lost a fight, as injury has forced Kevin Lee out of a bout against undefeated welterweight Sean Brady. News of the fight was first broken by Brady, who addressed his followers on Thursday via social media.
The fight was set to take place on UFC 264 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It is not known if Brady will get a new opponent for UFC 264. However, he has made it clear that he would prefer to face Lee at a later date instead.
“From my understanding he [Lee] has suffered an injury and had to pull out of the fight … My team is hoping to rebook the fight for August,” said Brady via Instagram.
The fight was set to be Lee’s first in over a year, with his last fight dating back to March of 2020 against Charles Oliveira.
The matchup gave Brady a big challenge in the fifth fight of his UFC career. The 28-year-old currently has 14 wins as a pro, with four of them in the UFC cage.
UFC 264 is currently set to be headlined by Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, who will be fighting in a trilogy bout.
