Legendary heavyweight fighter Fedor Emelianenko will make his return to action on a Bellator card later this year.
The 44-year-old fighter is set to face someone on October 23rd at the VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia, marking Bellator’s debut event in the country.
Emelianenko’s return was announced at a press conference on Friday.
It is not known who he will fight in the fall, although it was revealed that the event will take place in front of a live crowd.
“It’s an honor to bring him home to compete in front of his fans who have followed his entire career,” said Bellator President Scott Coker.
Emelianenko is widely recognized as one of the greatest heavyweight MMA fighters of all time despite never competing in the UFC. With a record of 39 wins and six losses, Emelianenko has fought in Pride FC, Strikeforce, Affliction and more.
Emelianenko has competed in Bellator since 2017, posting a promotional record of three wins and two losses. He last competed in late 2019, where he defeated Rampage Jackson within a round.
