Returning after a successful UFC debut earlier this year, Carlston Harris will face Impa Kasanganay at the promotion’s September 18th “Fight Night” event. The welterweight pairing was first reported by Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
The fight joins a lineup that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Harris had a strong promotional debut earlier this year, securing a first-round anaconda choke over Christian Aguilera. The bout continued his recent momentum, as he had scored finish wins in his past three regional bouts as well.
Harris made history in the bout, as he became the first Guyanese fighter to compete in the UFC.
Kasanganay bounced back from his sole pro loss in April, earning a submission victory against Sasha Palatnikov. The fight was his first appearance after being on the receiving end of a highlight-reel knockout from Joaquin Buckley last year.
UFC’s September 18th show does not have a main event reported for it yet. Here are the bouts we know about currently:
Bout 3: Ion Cutelaba (15-6-1) vs. Devin Clark (12-5) (Light Heavyweight)
Bout 2: Tafon Nchukwi (5-1) vs. Mike Rodriguez (11-6) (Light Heavyweight)
Bout 1: Impa Kasanganay (9-1) vs. Carlston Harris (16-4) (Welterweight)
