Bantamweights Chris Gutierrez and Felipe Colares are expected to face off at UFC’s October 9th event, as first reported by Mike Heck and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
The fight joins a card that does not have a confirmed lineup at the moment.
Gutierrez is currently on a strong run up the bantamweight division, having won four of his last five bouts, with the other appearance being a draw last year.
He has appeared once this year, defeating Andre Ewell via unanimous decision at UFC 258 in February.
Colares is also coming off a win, overcoming Luke Sanders on scorecards in May. The bout boosted his promotional record to two wins and two losses since joining the UFC in 2019.
Only one other fight has been reported for UFC’s October 9th show currently. That bout is set to be a fight between strawweight Lupita Godinez and Sam Hughes.
