Rachael Ostovich Avenges UFC Loss Against Paige VanZant In Bare-Knuckle Boxing

Rachael Ostovich got back a loss on Friday night against fellow former UFC fighter Paige VanZant, although it came in a completely different sport and promotion.

Ostovich was given a unanimous decision nod over VanZant on Friday after a five-round bare-knuckle boxing fight (48-47, 48-47 & 49-46). The fight avenged a submission loss that Ostovich took to VanZant on a UFC card in 2019.

The bout headlined BKFC 19, which took place at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida, USA.

Ostovich landed the better shots during the scrappy, brawl-heavy fight through five two-minute rounds. While not scoring any knockdowns in the fight, Ostovich was able to visibly stun VanZant near the end of the third and fourth rounds.

The fight was Ostovich’s first appearance in bare-knuckle boxing. It was also her first combat sports appearance since wrapping up a four-fight run in the UFC. Her stint in the MMA promotion was cut last year after she lost three consecutive bouts.

VanZant lost her bare-knuckle debut earlier this year, fighting five rounds against Britain Hart in February. Hart also competed on BKFC’s card on Friday, defeating Jenny Clausius.

The co-main event saw heavyweight Arnold Adams stop Mick Terrill in the third round with strikes.
