Yet another change has happened to UFC’s July 31st “Fight Night” card, as Niklas Stolze has been matched with a new opponent. Stolze will no longer face Mounir Lazzez and is instead set to fight Jared Gooden, per a report from Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
The new matchup joins a card that is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Lazzez’s withdrawal from the card reportedly came due to visa issues. He was fighting to bounce back from his sole UFC loss, which he took earlier this year.
Now stepping in on short notice, Gooden will be fighting for his first UFC win. He has lost his two previous appearances in the cage, losing to Alan Jouban and Abubakar Nurmagomedov.
Similarly, Stolze is returning after losing his UFC debut last year against Ramazan Emeev.
UFC’s July 31st card now has 13 fights in total set to happen. Middleweights Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland are currently scheduled to compete in the main event of the card.
