UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes has been pulled from her August 7th fight after testing positive for COVID-19, per a report from Mike Coppinger of ESPN.
Nunes was scheduled to defend her belt against Julianna Pena in the co-main event of UFC 265. Now the plan is for the fight to be rescheduled to a later date when Nunes is healthy.
It is not known currently when the fight between Nunes and Pena will be moved to.
The fight was set to take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, USA in the co-main event of UFC 265.
Nunes was looking to defend her 135-pound belt for the sixth time since claiming it in 2016.
She last fought in March this year, where she defeated Megan Anderson to defend her featherweight belt.
UFC 265 now has 13 fights in total scheduled to happen. The card will be headlined by Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane, who are both fighting to become interim UFC Heavyweight Champion.
