Larissa Pacheco Misses Weight By Two Pounds, Gets Disqualified From PFL Playoffs

Larissa Pacheco was pulled from the semi-finals of PFL’s womens lightweight tournament on Wednesday after missing weight for her fight.

Coming in two pounds over the non-championship limit, Pacheco was disqualified from competing in the bracket. She will be replaced by Mariana Morais in a fight against Taylor Guardado.

The fight was scheduled to take place on Thursday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, USA.

MMA Fighting obtained a statement from Pacheco describing the situation. She mentioned not being able to cut weight due to arriving at the event recently, not being provided with a bathtub immediately, and being in a press conference on Tuesday.

“I would have made weight with 20 more minutes but time was up and I was at 158 [pounds],” said Pacheco.

Pacheco, a two-season PFL vet, was entering the playoffs after an explosive regular season that saw her earn two first-round stoppage wins.

The change has also caused a slight reshuffling on the prelims. The previous opponent for Morais, Claudia Zamora, will now fight Marina Mokhnatkina.

Mokhnatkina’s opponent, Kaitlin Young, has been pulled from the card. It is not known currently why she was removed from the lineup.

“I am no longer fighting tomorrow. I am healthy, did not pull out of any fight, and I did not refuse any fight. I will update with more details after it all shakes out,” said Young in a Twitter post.
