Fighters Ryan Benoit and Jerome Rivera have recently departed the UFC roster.
Benoit had a nine-fight run with the UFC that resulted in three wins and six losses. He first joined the promotion back in 2013 and has since been a regular in their flyweight division.
Benoit’s UFC run came to an end after a three-fight losing streak from 2019 to 2021. He last competed in late July, where Zarrukh Adashev defeated him via unanimous decision.
Benoit’s release was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
Rivera had a much shorter UFC career, only joining the promotion in September of last year. He lost all four of his UFC appearances. He was submitted in his last fight, as Zhalgas Zhumagulov defeated him at UFC 264 last month.
Rivera was picked up by the UFC after a win on “Dana White’s Contender Series” last year.
Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting broke departure first.
