Three Fights Join August 28th UFC ‘Fight Night’ Card

Three changes have been made to UFC’s quickly approaching August 28th “Fight Night” event. The fights join a card that is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Di Chirico and Alhassan Remain on Card, Now Paired Up

Alessio Di Chirico and Abdul Razak Alhassan have been matched up after their previous opponents fell off the card. News of the bout was first reported by Nolan King and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.

Di Chirico was originally scheduled to fight promotional newcomer Aliaskhab Khizriev this weekend. He is coming back after snapping a three-fight skid in January with a head kick victory over Joaquin Buckley.

Alhassan was first booked to meet Antonio Braga Neto. His appearance on Saturday could be a must-win, as he is currently on a three-fight losing streak.

Former LFA Champ Demopoulos To Debut Against Aldrich

JJ Aldrich has received a new opponent, now facing former LFA Strawweight Champion Vanessa Demopoulos on Saturday’s prelims. MMA DNA first reported the matchup.

Aldrich was first scheduled to fight Tracy Cortez, who later was pulled from the card due to injury.

Demopoulos is coming off a 37-second stoppage victory that she earned against Cynthia Arceo. The bout put her back into the win column after losing her LFA belt to Lupita Godinez in October.

Aldrich is coming off a split decision victory she earned over Cortney Casey in March.

‘TUF’ Alum Petroski and Gillmore Paired Up

Middleweights from the recent season of “The Ultimate Fighter” will get their UFC debuts on Saturday night, as Andre Petroski and Michael Gillmore will battle.

Petroski was the first fighter to score a win on the recent season, defeating Aaron Phillips on an episode that aired in early June. He was submitted in the semi-finals of the show by Bryan Battle.

Gillmore appeared as an alternate in the opening round of the tournament, replacing Miles Hunsinger after he withdrew due to an injury. Gillmore was stopped within a round by Gilbert Urbina in his fight.
