Emily Whitmire has received a new opponent for her return at UFC’s September 18th event, now being paired against Hannah Goldy at strawweight. Whitmire was first scheduled to face Cory McKenna but is being given a new opponent after McKenna withdrew from the fight.
News of the change was first reported by David Van Auken. The change joins a UFC card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Whitmire will be making her first appearance since August of 2020. She lost in that bout, getting submitted within a round by Polyana Viana. She has the chance to break a two-fight skid in her next fight.
Goldy is still in search of her first UFC win. She lost her two previous appearances, not being favoured on scorecards against Miranda Granger and Diana Belbita.
Goldy had an undefeated pro record of five wins before joining the UFC roster in 2019.
