Ireland’s own James Gallagher will headline Bellator’s return to the country on November 5th. He will face former title challenger Patchy Mix in a three-round main event, per a press release sent out by the promotion Tuesday.
The bantamweight showdown headlines Bellator 270, which is set to take place at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
The bout will be Gallagher’s first appearance in Ireland since 2019. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak in Bellator, including a first-round submission he scored over Cal Ellenor in October.
Mix also earned a submission victory in his last fight, defeating Albert Morales in May. The performance put him back into the win column after losing a title fight against Juan Archuleta last year. The title fight was his first loss as a pro.
Queally and Pitbull To Rematch Following Doctor Stoppage
After a doctor stoppage concluded their first meeting, Peter Queally and Patricky Pitbull will rematch in November.
Queally won in their first meeting, as a deep cut on the head of Pitbull forced their bout to end after the second round in May. The victory was his return to the cage, with his previous bout dating back to September 2019 when he defeated Ryan Scope.
The rematch gives Pitbull a chance to not only avenge a loss but also snap a two-fight losing streak. His previous outing was in late 2019, where he lost to Tofiq Musayev in the grand finals of an eight-man RIZIN grand prix.
Only two bouts are currently set to happen on the main card. The prelims feature five bouts currently, including matchups with undefeated fighters like Ciaran Clarke, Danni Neilan and Junior Morgan.
Here is how the card looks currently:
Bout 7: James Gallagher (11-1) vs. Patchy Mix (14-1) (Bantamweight)
Bout 6: Peter Queally (13-5-1) vs. Patricky Pitbull (23-10) (Lightweight)
