Jim Miller has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing him out of his September 18th fight against Nikolas Motta.
The fight was scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Miller announced his positive test via social media on Friday.
“I tested positive for the ‘rona,” said Miller via Instagram.
The matchup was also scheduled to be a milestone for Miller, as he was going to be making his 50th appearance in professional MMA.
The bout would have also made Miller the fighter with the most UFC appearances – he currently has 37 fights for the promotion, tying him with Donald Cerrone.
Miller was looking to snap a two-fight losing streak that has developed over the past year.
It is not known at the moment if Motta will get a new opponent for his bout.
Motta was scheduled to make his UFC debut. The appearance has been nearly a year in the making, as he first earned a contract with the promotion on the 2020 season of “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
