UFC fighter Luis Pena was arrested Saturday and handed two misdemeanour charges.
The eight-fight UFC vet is currently facing charges of battery to cause bodily harm and domestic violence battery to touch or strike. He was taken into custody by police in Deerfield Beach, Florida, USA, and is currently being held in the Broward County Jail of Fort Lauderdale. He is expected to appear in court on Sunday morning.
A statement provided to MMA Junkie from the Broward Sheriff’s Office described that authorities arrested Pena after responding to a “domestic disturbance” call early Saturday morning.
Pena has already dealt with legal issues earlier this year.
In June, Pena was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief. Those charges were later downgraded and dropped after the alleged victim in the case signed an affidavit saying they did not want to press charges.
Pena last fought in April, fighting Alex Munoz on a UFC “Fight Night” card. Following his first arrest, UFC stated that they do not plan to offer him a new matchup for the time being.
