Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell was arrested Monday and charged with domestic battery in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Liddell, 51, was arrested in Hidden Hills, California on early Monday morning, per a report from TMZ. An arrest was made on the former MMA fighter after authorities determined he had gotten into a physical confrontation with a woman.
Liddell was placed in the Lost Hills Sheriff Station and had his bail set at $20,000. His first court appearance is expected for Wednesday at the Van Nuys Court.
Liddell has released a statement following his arrest via social media, claiming that “due course” in the case will reveal that he was the victim.
Liddell fought as a pro from 1996 to 2018, attaining a pro record of 21 wins through 30 appearances. He re-entered retirement a few years back after losing a trilogy fight to Tito Ortiz.
