UFC newcomer Viacheslav Borshchev will get his UFC debut early next year, facing Dakota Bush at the promotion’s January 15th event. The new lightweight matchup was first confirmed by John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
The fight joins a card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Borshchev had an explosive win earlier this month on UFC TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series,” stopping Bellator vet Chris Duncan early in the second round with strikes.
Borshchev’s fight on the show earned him a UFC contract.
Prior wins in Borshchev’s MMA career came in notable regional promotions LFA and Titan FC.
While not a promotional newcomer anymore, Bush will also be searching for his first UFC win. He lost his short-notice debut in April, dropping a unanimous decision result to Austin Hubbard.
Bush was set to return in September against Rongzhu, but that matchup was thrown out after he tested positive for COVID-19.
