UFC’s rapidly-approaching November 20th event has received yet another change. Cheyanne Buys has reportedly withdrawn from her booking against Loma Lookboonmee, but former LFA Strawweight Champion Loopy Godinez has stepped in to replace her.
The change was confirmed Wednesday by Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA.
The new matchup is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Buys revealed Wednesday that her departure from the lineup comes after she tested positive for COVID-19.
“This truly was the best I have ever felt leading into a fight and soon enough I will get back to doing what I love to do,” said Buys in an Instagram post.
Godinez, a new addition to this card, has made it clear early in her UFC run that she is open to taking short-notice fights. She notably fought twice in October, coming back just a week after scoring an armbar win to face Luana Carolina.
Now with a new opponent in place, Lookboonmee has the goal of attaining her third consecutive win. She has gutted out a decision victory in her past two appearances, defeating Jinh Yu Frey and Sam Hughes.
