ONE Championship has unveiled a six-fight lineup for their December 17th “Winter Warriors II” card, which will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. The event, which will be pre-taped earlier in the month, is set to have a main event between promotional veterans Danny Kingad and Kairat Akhmetov.
Akhmetov, a bantamweight that has been on the ONE roster since 2015, enters his late 2021 booking on a three-fight winning streak. He last fought roughly a year ago, defeating Kim Dae Hwan in late 2020 via decision.
Kingad is coming off a near two-year layoff from MMA. His last fight goes back to early 2020, where he beat Xie Wei. That fight put him back into the win column after taking a loss against former UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson in 2019.
Five MMA Fights Set For ‘Winter Warriors 2’ Undercard
While ONE Championship usually showcases Muay Thai and kickboxing, the promotion’s December 17th lineup will be exclusively MMA.
Kevin Belingon will fight to snap a three-fight losing streak in the co-main event, fighting finisher Kwon Won Il. After losing two straight fights to champion Bibiano Fernandes, Belingon suffered a stoppage loss against former UFC fighter John Lineker last year. On the other hand, Kwon has the momentum of a stoppage win in his last two fights.
Vitaly Bigdash is set to make his return when facing Fan Rong on the card. Bigdash, a former title challenger, has been out of action since 2018. He was set to fight Aung La N Sang earlier this year, although that bout was later scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fan will be aiming to score his third win in ONE Championship, after previously defeating Sherif Mohamed and Yuri Simoes.
Undefeated middleweight Murad Ramazanov will return to action on the card, facing Zebaztian Kadestam. Ramazanov moved his flawless pro record to double digits in his second ONE appearance, defeating Hiroyuki Tetsuka in November 2020. Kadestam is currently on a two-fight losing streak in the promotion. His last bout was a submission loss to Gadjimurad Abdulaev in January.
Former Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen Loman will make his ONE debut on the card, fighting Yusup Saadulaev at the 145-pound weight limit. Loman was a long-time champ in Brave CF, having defended his belt four times since gaining it in 2017. Saadulaev has scored three consecutive wins as of late. He handed Troy Worthen his first pro loss in his last fight, defeating him via decision last year.
Featherweight Jhanlo Mark Sangiao will attempt to defend his undefeated three-fight career in his ONE debut, facing Paul Lumihi in the opening fight on the card. Sangiao has scored three wins on the regional scene in the Philippines, with all fights coming via stoppage. Lumihi has yet to score a win through four appearances in ONE Championship.
