Recent circumstances have brought Tyron Woodley back to boxing yet again.
The former UFC Welterweight Champion is expected to fill-in for boxer Tommy Fury on December 18th, facing celebrity Jake Paul in a rematch. The new bout was reported earlier this week by internet personality Keemstar.
The new matchup is expected to air on pay-per-view and take place at the Amelie Arena in Tampa, Florida, USA.
Fury, an undefeated professional boxer with seven wins, pulled out from the fight due to injury. A statement from the boxer Monday claimed that he has suffered a broken rib and a bacterial chest infection.
Woodley will be taking the fight against Paul with just over a week to prepare.
Woodley first fought Paul in late August, with Paul emerging victorious in a unanimous decision result after eight rounds of action.
Paul currently boasts a professional boxing record of four wins. Previous wins came against former UFC fighter Ben Askren and former NBA basketball player Nate Robisnon.
The fight in August was Woodley’s first appearance in combat sports since his 16-fight stint in the UFC.
